In the carriage shed, you can play in the play carriage. In the square in front of the shed, you can have fun bouncing on a bouncy castle. And do you like face painting? That’s also possible during Stadskanaal under Steam. A beautiful old-fashioned merry-go-round with train seats is also waiting for you! And of course, a ride on the steam train is also a great experience!
Fair and model trains
In the carriage shed at Stadskanaal station, there’s a model train fair during Stadskanaal under Steam. Various dealers with railway items will be there. You can also find the Delft Model Building Association with a large model railway.
Open workshop
The STAR workshop is open to the public. You can take a look at all the equipment being worked on there; our volunteers are ready to tell you all about it!
Filmroom Presentation
The filmroom features an interesting exhibition with lectures three times a day about the role of the railways in post-war reconstruction.
