Package with Snikke ‘Dieverdoatsie’
The Snikke “Dieverdoatsie” is a replica of the barges that sailed in the Peat Colonies in the 19th and 20th centuries for passenger transport. Combined with the steam train, you’ll experience passenger transport as it was in the Peat Colonies in the last century. During the Stadskanaal under Steam cruise on Saturday, September 20th, you can take advantage of this special package, which also includes a trip on the Dieverdoatsie from Stadskanaal to Bareveld (or vice versa).
There is a surcharge on the day ticket for the Snikke cruise. You can find the special tickets in our ticket shop. Without an e-ticket, you cannot sail, as space is limited. So book now!
Price
The price for a combined ticket for Stadskanaal under Steam and Snikke is €25 for ages 12 and older, and €12.50 for children (ages 4 to 11).
Program 1 – Saturday, September 20
- 9:30 AM: Departure with the “Dieverdoatsie” from the bridge at Stadskanaal station.
- 11:45 AM: Arrival at the Bareveld stop of the STAR
- 12:03 PM: Departure with the steam train from the Bareveld stop
- 12:25 PM: Arrival at Stadskanaal station
Please note for program 1: Parking is available at STOPAQ from 9:00 AM. The shuttle bus will then take you to Stadskanaal station so you can board the boat at the bridge at 9:30 AM.
Program 2 – Saturday, September 20
- 10:30 AM: Departure by steam train from the STAR station in Stadskanaal
- 11:15 AM: Arrival at Veendam station
- 11:40 AM: Departure by steam train from Veendam station
- 12:03 PM: Arrival at Bareveld stop
- 12:10 PM: Departure by the “Dieverdoatsie” from Bareveld stop
- 2:15 PM: Arrival at the STAR station in Stadskanaal
In addition to this package, you can also use your regular day ticket to visit the ships below! They are waiting for you near the Stationsbrug in Stadskanaal.
Paddle Steamer “De Jonge Wachter”
From the Stationsbrug at Stadskanaal station, you can take a boat trip towards the center of Stadskanaal on the paddle steamer “De Jonge Wachter”.
The radar boat will operate both days according to the schedule below:
This boat is from the De Wachter Museum in Zuidlaren. A day ticket for Stadskanaal under Steam also gives you access to a boat trip with De Jonge Wachter.
Historic freighter “Jatrie”
At the Stationsbrug, you can also view the “Jatrie.” The “Jatrie” is a historic freighter, Groninger Steilsteven type, built in 1930 in Oude Pekela.
