Start of the steam season
The trips during Easter mark the start of the steam season. Although STAR did operate during the winter months, this was with a historic diesel locomotive. The winter months are used to carry out maintenance on the steam locomotives.
Ticket sales
Buy your ticket online via our ticket shop; upon arrival you can easily exchange it for an authentic train ticket at the ticket office! Tickets are also available at the stations Stadskanaal and Veendam. The conductor checks and clips the ticket on the train.
Tickets for these trips will be available from early March!
Always make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure!

* Bareveld halt: The train stops here only on request! If you are on the platform, raise your hand when the train approaches. If you boarded at one of the other stations, inform the conductor that you wish to get off at Bareveld.
