Spending the night in a unique location? Waking up on a railway yard? At Museumspoorlijn STAR you can spend the night in the STARwagon. This special freight wagon has been converted into a pioneer wagon by Atelier van Lieshout from Rotterdam. The wagon is a romanticized reference to the sober and hard times of the first peat pioneers. The developers of the peat landscape, the area through which our railway line runs.
STARwagon interior
The STARwagon can accommodate up to 5 people. The carriage is fully furnished, 
entirely in the style of the early pioneers. Included are:
– 5 sleeping places, including blankets and pillows
– dining area and kitchen unit with gas stove, fully equipped with dishes, pans and the like
– linen (for beds, kitchen and bathroom)
– primitive bathroom and toilet – Please note, this means an old-fashioned wooden poop box, no flush toilet
– electric lamps and candles
– wood stove with firewood
The car is located at the Stadskanaal yard.
Prices
The costs are 75 euros per night for 2 people. From the 3rd night 50 euros per night. The 3rd, 4th and 5th person stay overnight for only 10 euros p.p.p.n. Bicycle rental is possible, costs 10 euros per bike, per day.

If the expected outside temperature is above 25 degrees during the day, you can move your reservation to another date if you wish, it will certainly be very hot in the carriage in the middle of summer. The carriage will not be rented below 0 degrees!
