Have you always wanted to work and drive on a steam locomotive yourself? That is possible!!! As a guest stoker, you will receive a “steam” course in stoking and experience in practice what it takes to get such an impressive machine moving. You will stoke on one trip under the supervision of an experienced stoker.

Guest distiller package program
| 10:30 a.m.: | Reception at Stadskanaal station (you can report to the counter) with coffee and introduction to the distiller who will guide you that day, followed by a guided tour. You will also go through some theory with your supervisor and receive an explanation of the work that awaits you on the locomotive. |
| 11:45: | Lunch. |
| 13:00: | Your shift begins! Together with your supervisor and the driver of the afternoon shift, you will take over the locomotive from the morning stoker. During your shift, a few souvenir photos will be taken. The photos will be sent afterwards. During your shift, you will be on one return trip as a guest stoker. |
| 16:30: | Your shift is over. Time for a hot shower if you want. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to talk about it and you will receive a certificate. |
The package includes

- overalls + safety shoes: size to be given in advance – these must be returned afterwards
- tickets for the return trip for 2 people, e.g. for family or friends
You must bring your own
- low-flammability headgear (old cap or similar)
- towel and toiletries for the shower
