Winter meals on the train

Enjoy the winter scenery while having a delicious meal? You can on various Sundays during the winter months. During a train journey on the border of Groningen and Drenthe, delicious Dutch stamppot dishes are served. A unique opportunity to dine aboard a moving train!

Dining on the train used to be very common. Even domestic (express) trains in the Netherlands had a restaurant carriage. Nowadays, you only see this on a few international trains. But at Museumspoorlijn STAR this is possible once again. On various Sundays during the winter months, we serve a delicious stamppot buffet (kale mash, carrot mash and sauerkraut mash) during a train journey on our railway line. You can choose from 3 different stamppot dishes with side dishes. Along the way, you can enjoy the winter landscape at dusk in our illuminated and heated historic train.
