The steam train of Museumspoorlijn STAR runs between Veendam and Stadskanaal during the autumn holidays. And because it is Children’s Month in October, children up to and including 12 years old can travel for free.

October is the month in which there are many creative and exciting activities for children between the ages of 4 and 12. Museumspoorlijn STAR is also participating in Children’s Month. At STAR, children up to and including 12 years old can travel by train for free. This is possible on Sundays and Wednesdays of the autumn break.

Ticket sales

Ticket sales start about a month before this event. Buy your ticket via our ticket shop, which you can then easily exchange for an authentic train ticket at the ticket counter upon arrival at the station! Tickets can also be purchased at the Stadskanaal and Veendam stations. The conductor will check and clip the ticket on the train.
